ITINERARY

About 100 km north of Guilin, the 60 sq km kilometres of terraced rice fields were first built in the Yuan dynasty (AD1206-1368) and completed during the Qing dynasty (AD1644-1911) by the Zhuang people. The terraced fields are built along the slopes winding from the riverside up to the mountain top. The highest place of elevation is 885m while the lowest is 380 m. The coiling line spirals up from the foot of the mountain to the peak, thus making it appear as a huge snail when seen from a distance. You will also visit some villages of local ethnic tribes
