Zhouzhuang, 30Km southeast of Suzhou, is in the Bridge/Water and House lifestyle. More than 60% of the residential houses were built during the Ming and Qing dynasties with 100 classic courtyards and carved brick archways. The houses commonly have 2 floors with white walls and black roofs. Shaped windows provided spaces for laundry poles.
